Employment Handbooks and Harassment Discrimination Prevention Policies

Employment handbooks and harassment discrimination policies are the “house rules” for any organization and its employees. Federal and state courts, civil rights enforcement agencies, and human resource professionals favor the creation, updating, and distribution of employment handbooks and related policies. Often, however, companies create handbooks, have employees acknowledge receipt, and that’s it. The content and policies included in the handbooks are never addressed again.

Chapman Associates, along with Clark Hill, PLC, our strategic international law firm partner, assists organizations by creating and updating handbooks and policies and training employees on the most commonly referenced provisions. New handbook content may include:

Policies that define a workplace free of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
Mechanisms for investigating and addressing incidents where policy violations may have occurred
Policies involving attendance, leave, and accommodation
Performance management guidelines, employee reviews, and discipline
Internal and external codes of conduct

Recognizing that each organization is unique, our Leadership in Action training program is custom-developed.
